מטרה כללית מציינת מיומנות מעשית (למשל- שיחה) המצומצמת לפעולה ספציפית יותר (למשל- לדון ביתרונות ובחסרונות של תלבושת אחידה). פעולות ספציפיות מסוג זה ניתן לתרגל שוב ושוב וכך לאמוד את השליטה בהן לאורך זמן.
הטבלאות נותנות הנחיות בסיסיות ובשום פנים ואופן לא מהוות סילבוס מלא של קורס. רק את/ה והמורה שלך מחליטים מה חשוב יותר, בהתאם לצרכיך ולרמת השליטה שלך בשפה. לימוד של אוצר מילים חדש, למשל, זוהי מטרה שיש לשלב בכל שיעור, אפילו שאינה מוזכרת בטבלאות.
